So, I was watching The Painted Lady, and I realized that THIS happens!
It’s right in the beginning, when they’re taking the boat across the river.
I’m sure a lot of people spotted that Toph was holding onto Sokka.
But when Doc takes the paddle out of the water, and sprays them with the muck, Aang and Katara attempt to shield themselves, BUT SOKKA FOCUSES ON PUSHING TOPH OUT OF THE WAY OF THE MESS!
He doesn’t worry about protecting himself!
He just cares about protecting her!
