Okay, so I just thought of this weird, loose, headcanon
So, when Episode 4 of Legend of Korra came out, several people were appalled that Tarrlok had his arm around Korra’s shoulders:
There was a slight controversy. Apparently, people thought that was inappropriate, and that Tarrlok was a creep, etc.
But then I realized.
What if he saw how nervous Korra was, and actually tried to comfort her?
Because, there was once a time when he was comforted by someone putting their arm around his shoulder.
Remember when we all hated Tarrlok?
When we called him every horrible name in the dictionary?
When we wished that he would die?
Hahahah
Remember?
REMEMBER?
When The Puppetmaster episode came out, it caused a huge controversy with a parental group, about the episode being too dark for children.
Whenever I remember that, I think to myself,
“Good God! What would happen if that group saw Legend of Korra?”
So, remember when Ikki asked Tarrlok why he had three ponytails?
And we were all like, “Oh, Ikki! You’re so adorable!”
Well, I just realized that when Tarrlok was younger, he had TWO ponytails.
Yakone, however, had THREE!
OMFG!

I NOW UNDERSTAND QUANTUM PHYSICS!
I’m just going to leave this here.
Okay, can we just talk about how amazing this quote is.
“You’ve never faced bending like mine.”
1.) It’s ingenious because Amon is really Noatak, and he has faced the pressures of bloodbending, just like his brother.
2.) But in a way … he hasn’t.
3.) If we look at the flashbacks, we see that Yakone makes Noatak bend Tarrlok. He is clearly freaked out by it, and doesn’t ever want to bloodbend again. (Obviously he does, but stay with me here.)
So, he never gets the chance to bloodbend Noatak.
SO, Amon has never really felt what it’s like to be bloodbended, until Tarrlok finally uses it on him, in Out of the Past.
Which is so symbolic and ironic and phenomenal that I don’t even know where to start!
You know in “When Extremes Meet” when the two are fighting.
Korra charges at him, firebending, right before Tarrlok bloodbends her.
Do you think that she would have killed him?

I just wanted to remind you all:
THAT AFTER EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN THEIR LIVES, TARRLOK KILLED HIMSELF AND NOATAK, IN A HORRIBLY EPIC EXPLOSION!
