The teardrop grazed the side of the cliff, before becoming lost in the ocean.
Korra could hear her name being called, as she teetered over the edge.
“What are you doing?”
The sharp cry pierced the Arctic air. Korra turned, her eyes meeting Mako’s. Tenzin quickly joined the firebender, followed by Bolin and Asami.
Worried as they were, the four kept their distance.
“Korra, please,” Tenzin said, his eyes shining with fear, “You don’t have to do this!”
“We’ll find a way to get your bending back,” Bolin pleaded, “I promise, Korra.”
Asami didn’t say anything - petrified by the fear of losing someone else.
Korra smiled, sadly, “That’s just it, Bolin. I have already found a way. Avatar Aang always went into the Avatar State when his life was in danger.”
“Not this way,” Tenzin said, his voice quivering, “My father would’ve never wanted this!”
“Trust me,” Korra said, quietly.
“Korra…” Mako whispered.
Korra took a deep breath, “I love you, too.”
She gracefully stepped forward, until the ground was no longer beneath her.
“No!”
“NO!”
“Korra!”
“KORRA!”
Tenzin charged forward, but it was too late.
Their shouts were the last things she heard.
Korra closed her eyes, smiling.
Her world faded away, moments before her body succumbed to the icy water.
